Event Overview

Cape Sebastian, “The Cape” to Gold Beach locals, is a beloved and prominent feature just south of town; easily accessible by Highway 101. The trail that starts at the top and heads down the south side is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. We want to take you on a different adventure to the less traveled north side. These trails are some of our favorites, but they definitely pack a punch!

course details

15K - 2,100 feet of elevation gain. Starting from the parking lot on Bellview Lane the course heads downhill to start, then a right turn onto the Oregon Coast Trail. The Oregon Coast Trail connects to the 333 Trail with a left turn, and you’ll head steadily downhill to the beach. After just shy of a mile of beach, you will head up the Mole Trail, and then turn right when you get back to the Oregon Coast/Bellview Trail. Here is a mix of climbing and descending until you reach the bottom of the North Cape Trail. Turning left onto the trail you will climb up to the top of Cape Sebastian and check in with the aid station before returning down the North Cape Trail and following the Oregon Coast/Bellview Trail back to the start/finish area.

4.25M - 850 feet of elevation gain. This course initially follows the 15K route, but then makes a left at the top of the Mole Trail onto the Oregon Coast/Bellview Trail to head back to the start/finish area.

Getting here & Parking

Our Start/Finish location is at Bellview Lane. From Gold Beach it is about a 5 minute drive south on Highway 101, on the ocean side of the highway. It is about a 25 minute drive North from Brookings. The parking lot at Bellview is small, so parking will be limited. We encourage people to carpool.

Dog Policy

This race is dog friendly!! Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on the course. Any unleashed or misbehaving dogs will be asked to leave the course and/or Start/Finish area.

Post-Race Party/Awards

Once you cross the finish line you will be greeted with yummy food, an assortment of drinks, and a finisher’s award!
